Enid "Crystal" Baysinger, 86, of Kamiah, Idaho passed away Friday, July
14, 2006 of cancer at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho.
     
Crystal was born July 11, 1920 to Elmer and Myrtle (Brown) Powell at Boles, Idaho.
     
She attended and graduated from Southwick High School in 1938.
     
Crystal met and married Edward Zaccheus Choate, Jr., July 3, 1940 they were later divorced. She then met and married Oval Henry (Tobe) Baysinger August 4, 1956 at Teakean, Idaho. Tob brought four children into this loving
marriage. Crystal was a very loving mother and Grandmother.
     
Crystal worked as a CNA in Idaho from 1945 to 1947, worked as a caretaker at a Girl Scout Ranch in California from 1962 to 1975 and then retired back to Idaho in approximately 1976.
     
Crystal was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Pine Ridge Baptist Church, and the Eagles Lodge.
     
Crystal is survived by her daughter Sharlene Embree of Washington; her sons Stanley Choate of Idaho and Larry Choate of Montana; step-daughter Venita Martin of Colorado; and stepsons; Vernon Baysinger of Arizona, Gorem Baysinger of California, and Norris Baysinger of Idaho; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
     
Crystal was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Zaccheus Choate, Jr. and Oval (Tob) Baysinger, her parents Elmer and Myrtle Powell, her sisters Agnes Powell, Opal Van- Airsdale, and Gay Choate.
     
Visitation was Wednesday at the Teakean Cemetery near Cavendish, Idaho followed by a graveside service. A reception followed the service at the Eagles Lodge in Lewiston.
     
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Crystal's name to the Carondelet House, C/O St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, 415 6th Street, Lewiston, Idaho 83501. Arrangements are by Trenary Funeral Home, Kooskia, Idaho.

Crystal Baysinger
     
Crystal Baysinger of Lewiston will celebrate her 80th birthday with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. next Sunday at the Lewiston Community Center.
     
She was born July 11, 1920, at Boles, Idaho, to Elmer and Myrtle Powell.
     
She worked as a practical nurse for 14 years at several hospitals including those in Kellogg, Orofino, Ontario, Ore., and Tri-State Hospital at Clarkston. She retired in 1980.
     
From 1963 to 1980 she worked as a caretaker and camp cook at a Girl Scout camp in California. In 1980 they moved to the Teakean-Cavendish area and she moved to Lewiston in 1993.
     
She and Edward Choate Jr. were married in 1940. That marriage ended in divorce. She married O.H. (Tob) Baysinger Aug. 4, 1956. He died in 1985.
     
Baysinger enjoys playing cards and dancing.
     
She has two sons, one daughter, one step-daughter, three stepsons, 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
     
Her family will serve as hosts for the event.
